Social Commentary is a new gallery focused across social, cultural, political or economic issues in society today.

'DESTRUCTION: Innocence lost' is the first artwork I have produced that touches on the theme of armed conflict, with the Russo-Ukrainian War as its focus. But, there are many ongoing armed conflicts going on around the world. Be it between two or more organized armed groups, governmental or non-governmental; civil insurgencies; and, drug wars. All connected by a large-scale loss of life.

Continuing with the series, 'DESTRUCTION: Missile graveyard' is the second artwork based on the theme of armed conflict. In the eastern Ukrainian city of Kharkiv, a ‘missile graveyard’ contains more than a thousand rockets and artillery shells that have inflicted colossal damage to the city and its inhabitants since the Russian invasion. The work is my interpretation of the aerial imagery that I had seen online and in news coverage. You can read more about the rationale behind both of these works in the social commentary gallery.
